Drinking Water

Name of the Program: DRINKING WATER BOREWELL REFURBISHMENT PROGRAMME – 31 VILLAGES, KADAPA DISTRICT

Community using refurbished hand-pump borewell

Supported by: Mr. Richard Guarnuccio and Mrs. Louella Guarnuccio, Australia

Implementation:

With the generous support of our donors, Good Hopes Educational Committee refurbished defunct borewells across 31 villages in Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Each borewell was repaired, fitted with new hand pumps, and provided with a clean concrete platform and drainage to prevent stagnation. Community volunteers, local technicians, and field coordinators jointly carried out the work and oriented households on basic upkeep for year-round functionality.

Impact:

Thousands of rural families and schoolchildren now have reliable access to safe drinking water—reducing hardship, improving health, and saving time for women and children.
