  • State : Andhra Pradesh

Duration: From 12th June2008 to 8th June2009

Implementation:

Handloom Weaving

The weavers are a marginalized segment of the community in the Kadapa District because of their poverty. 25 women were trained in the traditional occupation of handloom weaving and participate in a literacy program for one month. A production was organized after the training period, where textile weaving should lead to an income-generating activity that would raise them above the poverty line. In the evening, the women also participated in the literacy classes and learned Non-Formal Education.

25 poverty stricken families were become self-supportive through this project.  167 people such as women, children, aged and other adults were indirectly benefited through this project.
