The weavers are a marginalized segment of
the community in the Kadapa District because of their poverty. 25 women
were trained in the traditional occupation of handloom weaving and
participate in a literacy program for one month. A production was
organized after the training period, where textile weaving should lead
to an income-generating activity that would raise them above the poverty
line. In the evening, the women also participated in the literacy
classes and learned Non-Formal Education.
25 poverty stricken families were become
self-supportive through this project.
167 people such as women, children, aged and other adults were
indirectly benefited through this project.
